Hardyproof / Features / English & Spanish

Work in Spanish. Your customers can write in English.

Plenty of the best tradespeople think in Spanish, while many of their customers write in English. The language shouldn't decide who gets the job.

Inbox in Spanish showing a customer's request translated, with a link to the original

How it works

  1. Pick your language

The inbox has an ES | EN switch. It remembers your choice.

  2. Customers pick theirs

The request form and their tracking page have the same switch.

  3. Requests arrive translated

A request written in English shows in Spanish in your inbox, with "Ver original" for the exact words.

  4. Proposals go out in English

Write the scope in Spanish and tap "Translate to English". Check it, then send.

How Mingo uses it

Mingo Home Repair in Lynchburg, Virginia was the first business on Hardyproof. Mingo prefers Spanish, and most of his customers write in English. His inbox opens in Spanish, every request arrives translated with the original one tap away, and when he writes a proposal in Spanish, one button turns it into English before he sends it. His customers use the same form in whichever language they choose.

What you get

  • Translation on our own serverCustomer text isn't sent to an outside translation service.
  • Texts in the customer's languageReady-made quote, schedule and "On my way" texts go out in Spanish to Spanish-speaking customers.
  • Spanish-speaking customers taggedTheir jobs show an "Español" tag in your inbox.
  • UndoDon't like the translation? Undo puts your Spanish back.

Using translation well

  • Read the English version before sending. Machine translation is good, not perfect, especially with trade slang.
  • Prices, measurements and model numbers should match in both versions. Check them.
  • For anything legal, like warranties or deposit terms, keep the wording simple and short.
