Hardyproof / Features / Proposals
Proposals your customers can accept online
A price in a text works for a dripping faucet. For a bathroom repair or a roof patch, the customer wants to see what's included before saying yes, and you want it in writing.

How it works
- Start from the request
The scope of work is drafted from what the customer wrote. Edit it in your own words.
- Add materials and the price
List materials in general terms and give one total, or break it into a few lines.
- Set a deposit if you need one
The proposal shows the deposit due before work starts and the rest on completion.
- Send the link
The customer reads it on their phone, downloads a PDF if they want, and accepts by typing their name.
What you get
- Scope of work, materials, cost summaryThe parts every proposal needs, in a layout that prints on letter paper.
- Current-condition photosA second page with your photos and captions, so everyone agrees on the starting point.
- Accepted onlineTheir typed name, the date and time are saved with the signed copy.
- Versions keptSend a new version and the old one is marked replaced, never lost.
- PDF and printDownload, print or attach the PDF to an email from your phone.
Writing a proposal that gets accepted
- Describe the result, not just the tasks: "door closes and locks smoothly" beats "adjust hinges".
- Say what's not included. Paint color, haul-away or permits are common surprises.
- Keep materials general ("matching tile, thinset, grout") so a price change on one item doesn't rewrite the proposal.
- Put an expiry date on it. Material prices move, and an open-ended price is a risk.
- If you take a deposit, check your state's rules. Some states cap it: California, for example, limits home improvement down payments to 10% or $1,000, whichever is less.
